Alex Wheatcroft (Head Coach)

Hey everyone! My name is Alex Wheatcroft, and I am the head coach for this season! My fourth season as a Stingrays coach and seventh overall with BCSSA will begin this year. Growing up, I coached and swam for the Cloverdale Tritons. I also had a taste of winter swimming when I was a teenager and spent three years swimming with the Simon Fraser Aquatics swim team. I’ll be swimming with the BCSSA for the 19th time this season. I’m currently enrolled at the University of the Fraser Valley, where I hope to graduate with a Bachelor of Arts degree this fall and will apply to teaching programs in the near future. I am looking forward to working with the Stingray coaching staff this year. I can’t wait to have a good time and cheer loudly during the summer of 2023!

Coach Jemma

My name is Coach Jemma and I am extremely excited to return to the pool for another season of fun! I have been swimming with the stingrays for a grand total of 17 summers. This summer will be my 7th year being able to coach such exceptional swimmers in an entertaining and positive environment. I am currently pursuing a bachelor of science degree from UBC with a special interest in medicine and psychology. Along with school and coaching, I enjoy — travelling, swimming, listening to music, and of course, being with you guys!! I have been a proud member of the Stingray family for most of my life and I cannot wait to make even more amazing memories this coming season.  I am super excited to share my love and passion for swimming with all of the new and returning swimmers.

See you all out there! Go Stingrays !!!

Coach Kylie

Hey Everyone! I am pumped to be back for my 7th year coaching  and my 17th year swimming with the Ladner stingrays! As a senior coach, I really am proud of the past seasons and can’t wait to have a fresh and fun next season! A couple fun facts about me would be that I love the gym! As well, I enjoy drawing, playing music and going on adventures. I am also a 3rd year college student in the Child and Youth Care program at Douglas college. I am so grateful to have you all a part of my team this year and for the wonderful coaching staff and friends I have on deck with me.

See you on the deck!

Coach Sam

Hey team!! My name is Coach Sam, and this will be my 10 year anniversary in competitive swimming and with the Stingrays! This is also my sixth year coaching, in which I could not be more grateful for. Along with swimming, I enjoy playing volleyball, listening to music (Rihanna is my favourite), going camping, and spending time with my friends and fam of course! If you know me, you know how much I love swimming and how pumped I get to see everyone all summer long! I have a feeling that this summer is going to be the best one yet, and cannot wait to welcome back returning Stingrays, as well as our new Stingrays joining us for the ride! I am so excited to work hard, have fun, and make long-lasting memories with you all! See you on deck everyone:)

Coach Sara

Hi, everyone!!I’m Coach Sara, and I’m very excited to get back in the pool again! This year will be my 11th year of swimming and my second year of coaching.

When I’m not swimming or helping out at the club, I’m hanging out with friends, playing basketball, skiing in the winter, or spending time with my family, but swimming is my favourite thing to do.

I can’t wait to meet everyone new and see everyone returning for another season. I have a feeling it’s going to be a great one!  See you on the pool deck!

Coach Sophie

Hi Stingrays!  I’m Coach Sophie, and I am very excited for the summer season! This summer will be my ninth season with the Stingrays and my second year coaching, and I have loved every minute of it. I can’t wait to share my swimming knowledge with our younger swimmers. I love swimming in the summer and playing soccer in the winter. I also enjoy animals, baking, fitness, and hanging out with my friends and family. I can’t wait to see all our returning swimmers and look forward to meeting all of our new swimmers!

See you all on deck!

Coach Jade

Hi everyone! My name is Coach Jade, and I can’t wait for this swim season to start! This will be my 11th year of swimming with this swim club, but it will be my first year of coaching, and I could not be more excited. Alongside swimming, I also play basketball, soccer, and track. I also enjoy baking, reading, hiking, and going for bike rides with my friends. I’m really excited to meet all of you this summer.

See you all soon!

Coach Isaac

Hey everyone, I’m Coach Isaac. This is my first year coaching, but I’ve been with the Stingrays for a lot longer than that. I’ve been a stingray for around 10 years, and I’m excited to be part of the coaching team. I enjoy sports like soccer, lifting, and, of course, swimming. I also like meeting and hanging out with friends (me and Coach Ella in the photo😎). I can’t wait for this new swim season to start. I hope you’re as excited as me.  See you on deck!
